We, Ginny & Martin Brant acquired Blue Hills Touring Park in March 2014. A massive lifestyle change for us and a big decision to leave behind family most of who were in Hampshire although we seem to have seen a lot more of them down here since we moved!
Martin worked at Heathrow Airport T4 for 19 years as a ramp duty supervisor & Ginny worked in the retail sector, the last role with Millets Outdoors so dealing with people, tents and camping were the norm!

We caravanned ourselves since our 2 boys were very young (now 29 & 30) and enjoyed many a break in our little secondhand ABI. After upgrading a few times and enjoying many ‘fishing’ site based family holidays we progressed to a bit more comfort with a fixed bed tourer (once the boys decided it wasn’t cool to caravan with Mum & Dad anymore!) We tried a motorhome break once, an enjoyable learning curve and it gave us a real insight to some of the practicalities of having a motorhome, very enlightening! Martin likes to bowl in his spare time and Ginny loved the dog agility circuit for a number of years.

Harley joined our family in 2006 and all holidays started to revolve around suitable dog-friendly sites. Cornwall definitely became our favourite county invoking many great memories of our own holidays in our youth.
(Very sadly Harley left us in July 2020 but his spirit lives on at Blue Hills with many Doggy visitors enjoying his field for their daily exercise and run arounds)

We excitedly viewed Blue Hills in June 2013 whilst holidaying nearby on the North Coast. We were wowed by Perranporth beach, the South West Coast Path & the ‘local’ beach at Trevellas Porth. We were bowled over by the site itself. It needed a little TLC and it was rather quiet for June! We were still renovating a project house in North Hampshire so couldn’t put in an offer immediately and then heard that Blue Hills had sold. In November 2013 we accepted an offer on the project house & just 2 days later we got a call to say Blue Hills was back on the market, we’ve never packed a bag so quickly! Following much discussion with family, driving many miles, house hunting locally we moved to the lovely St. Agnes in January 2014 & the park became ours just before Easter 2014.

Over the last six years we’ve refitted toilets, showers & disabled facilities, revamped the wash-up area & the utility area re-organised. We tidied the old horse field which became ‘Harleys Field’, a great recreation area for our own boy and all our 4 legged doggy guests leading to us winning a few dog-friendly awards, in turn we created Doggy Den for the ‘new’ doggy arrivals. The field is also used by our younger visitors in the holiday times. After revamping the old horse shelter backpackers now have a ‘dry’ space to chill in when needed. We had a major upgrade of electrics allowing us to operate 16 amp hook-up points on all main field pitches and some tent pitches. Much outside building maintenance was done and for 2020 we’ve introduced 4 ‘grass grid’ hard standing pitches, ideal for those drive-in guests to park straight onto and allowing us to open during the wetter Autumn months! Our most exciting news to date is that in November 2019 we were finally given full planning permission to build a small abode with the addition of a nice reception office and new laundry room (planned to start around Oct 2020). So at last we can truly call Crosscombe, St. Agnes our home.

We love seeing our regular guests and look forward to meeting many new campers, motorhomers and caravanners many of whom book with us due to word of mouth and find us after seeing our lovely reviews. We are often on site in the background along with our seasonal site assistants to ensure your holiday is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

We look forward to seeing you all soon.
