Social Distancing at Blue Hills Touring Park.

It’s going to be a slightly different experience if you are staying with us this year especially those who are camping. We’re putting in all the suggested guidelines to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. It is in your own interest to PLEASE READ THESE THOROUGHLY. Thank you.

Updated 23/07/2020update on face coverings. The updated Government advice is ”you are also strongly encouraged to wear a face covering in other enclosed public spaces where social distancing may be difficult and where you come into contact with people you do not normally meet”. We therefore request that guests come prepared to follow this guideline when/if using our toilet block..

  • We will be operating below our normal Pitch capacity (22-24 from 30) to allow sensible social distancing around the park facilities. This will be reviewed again once we have been open for a few weeks.
  • A voluntary Covid Risk Assessment has been completed to ensure we and our helpers on site work can within safe parameters. It is also to reassure guests that we are doing our utmost to work with all COVID distancing, cleaning and hygiene guidelines. HOWEVER we cannot ‘police’ everyone’s own actions and ask that guests use COMMON SENSE in all areas.
  • You will be given a site information sheet on arrival.
  • Regrettably our camp kitchen extra facilities such as microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezers will not be available this season (our room is too small an area to operate safely and handling items considered too risky). If you need an electric hook-up point option to your unit please note on booking. However, our phone USB charge points will be available if you bring your own charging leads.
  • We will have basic informative signage around the site gently reminding guests about social distancing and facility usage.
  • We offer contactless DEBIT card payment on arrival.
  • Our toilets will be open in the day. However, we respectfully request that all Caravans & Motorhomes use their own toilet/shower facilities. We will be asking on booking that ALL TENTS AND CAMPERVAN campers supply their own toilet/tent with groundsheet for use when our facilities are closed i.e. at night. YOUR BOOKING WILL NOT BE CONFIRMED IF YOU CANNOT COMPLY. (There’s no charge for toilet tents). We have a chemical disposal point on site.
  • The toilets/showers WILL BE CLOSED OVERNIGHT to enable us to fit in with enhanced cleaning protocols. At present they open at 7am, close at 10pm. This will be reviewed as the season progresses. Daytime toilets closures are posted on the doors. There will be allocated time slots prioritising tent users who have provided their own night-time toilet facilities with a marked ‘queuing’ system in place to allow sensible distancing at all times. All best practise cleaning protocols will be adhered to. Alternate cubicles will be closed to allow adequate spacing between users. The same will apply with the sinks in these areas. The Doors and windows will be kept open during the daytime for best ventilation and to eliminate any ‘touch’ issues.
  • Our disabled access toilet & shower room MUST be pre-booked to enable cleaning management after use.
  • Shower curtains inside the cubicles will be removed. It is advisable that you have a waterproof bag to hang on the back of the cubicle door for your clothing. There are clothes hooks outside the area also.
  • Our hairdryer will not be operating.
  • Sanitiser and distancing signage will be put around the site. You are asked to sanitise on ENTRY to toilets and to SOAP wash hands on leaving. Hand dryers will be operational.
  • This year you need to supply your own washing up liquid & sponges.
  • Our laundry facilities will be operational with limited access to the laundry area.
  • Our wetsuit dip will be available, used at your own risk.
  • The outside taps all have sanitiser stations attached to them. We advise you wear ppe gloves when handling taps. We regularly wipe these down with a recommended disinfectant spray. .
  • Harleys Field gate will be open for dogs to play in using the usual guidelines of sensibly looking at who is already in the field. The smaller gate between Harleys Field and Doggy Den will remain open. Guest are responsible for keeping dogs under control.
  • There will be NO ‘basics’ shop this year.
  • Please DO NOT order supermarket deliveries. These must be prioritised in the local area for the more vulnerable persons. You could shop locally, it would be greatly appreciated by the local shop owners and please respect local practises when visiting establishments in the area.
  • Our local hospitality places (pubs!) want & need to see everyone back and will have their own restrictions in place. Pre-booking to eat is advisable.
  • Our tourist information area will consist of the laminate wall. This is to avoid people touching leaflets. You can take phone photos of the attraction you’re interested in! Walking maps will also be on the walls!
  • If you are camping with friends/family who are in a separate unit please respect the social distancing rules currently applicable. If you are not sure of these please go to www.gov.uk to check relevant rules to your situation.
  • No guests visitors will be allowed on site. Please arrange your meets elsewhere.
  • We suggest that you supply your own SEAT & TABLE COVERINGS if wanting to use the wooden site tables, for your own peace of mind (subject to availability).
  • If you have any Symptoms or are self-isolating PLEASE do not come on holiday!
  • If you live in a current lock-down area do not come on holiday!
  • If you develop symptoms when with us please ring 111 for advice and inform us, be prepared to leave if safe to do so straight away to go home. If you are contact traced whilst with us please advise us and be prepared to leave.
  • TOURING CAMPERS/BACKPACKERS. Sadly this year we will be unable to accept single night walk/drive in guests due to our facilities being closed at night and concerns regarding previous accommodation arrangements and test and trace procedures..
  • All our usual T&C’s apply. Please ensure you have also read these before making a booking with us. Thank you.
