The nearest general stores are:

  • in St Agnes –  The Post Office with convenience store and a Spar shop
  • in Perranporth –  2 large Co-op’s & Premier Stores
  • Mithian has a small store within the Miners Arms Pub!

Both Perranporth & St. Agnes have a good selection of  butchers, bakers, greengrocers,  hairdressers, florists, and lovely gift shops. There is a nice library in St. Agnes and a lovely little Museum which gives great insight about St. Agnes and the surrounding area.

The nearest pubs are:

  • The St. Agnes Hotel, affectionately known as ‘The Aggie’ in the village will give you a warm welcome, with a programme of entertainment throughout the summer and lovely food and a big screen for those important sports events! www.stagneshotel.co.uk
  • The Driftwood Spas in Trevaunance Cove (St. Agnes beach), where you can eat whilst looking out to sea and has a lovely beer garden – the crib shack – across the road. They have a varied menu and have entertainments on a regular basis. www.driftwoodspars.co.uk/
  • The Miners Arms at Mithian (nearest) is a small traditional village pub and has a lovely food menu and if you can’t decide on a particular pudding go for the trio option, they are delicious! Well worth booking a table in advance especially if planning a Sunday lunch! http://www.miners-arms.co.uk/

In Perranporth, you have the choice of a number of takeaway options including:

  • Massala Indian restaurant, they deliver to Blue Hills! (not July/August).
  • Pasty shops! … Not being biased in any way but… M.Chapman & Son butchers in Perranporth do a mean selection of hot pasties!!! (to be fair of course all Cornish pasties are lovely but we keep going back to these!) & for those bacon buttie lovers they do very generous portions in their breakfast rolls!

Coffee Time!

There are numerous coffee shops but we like these…

  •  The Coffee Shop, as you enter Perranporth’s main highway, it’s  a lovely seating area and is totally pet friendly, Harley is a regular, loves his treats!!
  • The Watering Hole on the beach is not only a busy beach bar but does lovely coffee and cakes, great for those cooler days! They have a good line up of entertainment too including the now annual ‘Tunes in the Dunes’ festival and the ’Bands in the Sands’ music nights are popular featuring often well known artists www.thewateringhole.co.uk
